AVA: Agriculture, Vulnerability and Adaptation

AVA is a pioneer project, funded by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), which has created the first model to analyse the vulnerability of the agricultural sector in a strategic region of Colombia. This model includes economic-productive, politico-institutional, socio-cultural and biophysical indicators that were carried out in the Upper Basin of the Cauca River on 6 strategic crops, in 99 municipalities and 5 departments. This model has been improved and used in other regions of the country, acting as a valuable tool for informing the agricultural sector on climate change challenges and providing inputs for the development planning and adaptation of the sector in the long-run.
